Cambodia Casinos
There is an appealing history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is prohibited. Eight casinos are established in a generally small area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 1700, and though visas are apparently necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is correct of most borders.
The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel building that contains numerous conveniences accompanying the gambling den, which offers ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
